Hipze

Our story

A small shop with strong opinions

Hipze is a curated bohemian shop. We do not make the clothes — we find them, buy them in small quantities from independent makers, and sell them until they run out.

Why we buy small

Most clothing is made in quantities that guarantee some of it will never be worn. The maths only works at scale, so the cloth gets thinner, the stitching gets faster, and whatever doesn’t sell is written off.

We buy the other way round: a few of each piece, from makers working at a human scale. Much of what we carry is printed, dyed or sewn in the USA, in organic cotton, by workshops small enough that a run genuinely ends. When something sells out we would rather tell you than discount the next thing to fill the gap.

It also keeps us honest about what you’re buying. Each product page carries the maker’s own description, the materials as they stated them, and the care note that came with the piece — not copy we invented to make a sale.

What we hold to

Four things we won’t trade away

    Quality over margin

If the only way to hit a price is to carry a thinner, cheaper version of a piece, we would rather not carry it at all.

    Sizes described honestly

Our pieces come from different makers, so sizing is not identical across the shop. The size guide says so, and says how to check before you order.

    Reviews stay up

When reviews come in we publish them as written, including the ones that say a hem sits wrong, and we reply to those in public.

    No dark patterns

No countdown timers, no fake stock warnings, no 'twelve people are looking at this'. If it's running low, the page says so because it is.

How a piece gets here

From maker to parcel

  1. Finding it

Independent makers and small print houses, most of them in the USA. We look for organic cotton, hand-printing and people who will tell us where a thing was actually made.

  2. Checking it

We read the maker's own spec — fibre, weight, where it was cut and sewn — and we pass that on to you as they stated it rather than rewriting it into something vaguer.

  3. Buying small

A few of each piece and each size, so our money goes across more makers instead of into a deep pile of one style that may not sell.

  4. Packing it

Orders leave us in 1–2 business days, sent worldwide. If something is wrong when it lands, you have 30 days and we pay the postage when the fault is ours.
